비디갤러리에서는 7월 2일부터 7월 28일까지 강희영, 김재현, 제이조 작가의 3인전인 <어느 여름날의 시간들>을 진행한다. 짙어지는 녹음과 따뜻한 빛이 머무는 계절, 우리는 자연과 삶의 풍경 속에서 스쳐 지나가는 감정과 기억을 다시 한 번 마주하게 된다. 이번 전시는 자연을 바라보는 시선에서 출발해 인간 내면의 정서와 관계, 기억의 흔적을 탐색하는 작업들을 선보인다. 화면 위에 펼쳐진 풍경은 단순한 묘사를 넘어 각자의 경험과 감각이 스며든 심리적 공간이 되며, 관람자는 그 안에서 자신만의 기억과 감정을 발견하게 된다. 자연과 인간, 외부의 풍경과 내면의 세계가 공존하는 이 전시는 일상 속에서 잊고 지낸 감각과 삶의 의미를 천천히 되돌아보는 시간을 제안한다.
강희영 작가는 삶과 인간관계 속에서 마주한 느낌과 깨달음을 바탕으로 외로움, 자아, 그리고 타인과의 감정과 이야기를 회화로 탐구한다. 작품의 주요 소재인 거울과 블록은 유연하고 견고하지만 쉽게 흔들리고 무너질 수 있는 이중적인 관계를 상징하는 소재이다. 작가는 거울에 비친 자신의 모습을 타인처럼 인식한 경험을 계기로 자아와 정체성에 대한 성찰을 시작했으며, 거울을 캔버스로 활용해 자신과 타인의 경계가 교차하는 순간을 시각화한다. 그리고 컬러풀한 색상의 블록을 열망과 목표가 축적되어 형성된 자아의 은유로 제시하며, 사회가 요구하는 모습과 진정한 나 사이의 간극을 질문한다. 물웅덩이, 호수, 풀숲 등 다양한 상징적 소재를 함께 화면에 배치하며 내면의 풍경을 확장하고, 강렬한 색채와 고채도의 색감을 통해 밝지만 고독한 정서를 전달하며 삶과 인간관계에 대한 성찰의 장을 마련한다.
김재현 작가는 자연과 풍경을 소재로, 자연이 불러일으키는 인상과 정서적 경험을 화면에 담아내는 작업을 이어오고 있다. 주요 연작인 ‘숲 인상’, ‘자연 인상’, ‘아카시아’ 시리즈는 자연을 바라보는 시선과 거리의 변화를 보여주며, 특히 아카시아 작업은 잎의 패턴과 반복적 이미지를 통해 자연의 세밀한 감각을 확장한다. 작가는 자연이 연출하는 감동을 구현하기 위해 전통적 원근법이나 관습적 구도를 지양하고, 수많은 붓질과 중첩된 터치를 활용해 자연 속에서 스쳐 지나간 온도와 향기, 바람의 감각을 시각화한다. 이를 통해 자연이 지닌 정서적 울림과 인상의 본질을 화면 위에 드러낸다. 또한 추상화된 표현 방식을 병행하여 언어로 설명하기 어려운 감각과 기억을 환기하며, 자연이 품고 있는 생동감과 깊은 여운을 전달한다.
제이조 작가는 여행지에서 마주한 자연의 풍경과 그 안에서 경험한 감정의 순간들을 유화로 풀어낸다. 작가는 자연을 사실적으로 재현하기보다 특정 장소에서 느꼈던 공기의 질감과 정서, 그리고 광활한 풍경 속 작은 존재로 서 있던 자신의 감각을 작품에 담아낸다. 작가의 작업은 거대한 자연과 인간의 대비를 통해 존재에 대한 사유를 이끌어내며, 자연 앞에서 느끼는 겸허함과 해방감을 전달한다. 유화 특유의 느린 축적의 과정을 바탕으로 층층이 쌓인 색채와 붓질을 통해 풍경의 인상과 시간을 구축하며, 설명되거나 규정되지 않는 자연의 아름다움과 정서적 울림을 표현한다. 이를 통해 관람자가 자연과 마주했던 자신의 기억과 감각을 되돌아볼 수 있는 사유의 공간을 마련한다.

As the season deepens with lush greenery and warm sunlight, we find ourselves revisiting fleeting emotions and memories awakened by nature and the landscapes of everyday life. Beginning with each artist's unique perspective on nature, this exhibition explores the emotional landscape of the human mind, interpersonal relationships, and the traces of memory. The landscapes depicted on canvas transcend mere representation, becoming psychological spaces infused with personal experiences and sensibilities. Within these spaces, viewers are invited to encounter their own memories and emotions. Bringing together the external world of nature and the inner world of human experience, the exhibition offers a quiet opportunity to rediscover the senses and meanings that often fade amid the routines of daily life.
Kang Heeyoung explores loneliness, identity, and human relationships through painting, drawing upon emotions and insights gained from lived experiences. Mirrors and building blocks, the central motifs in her work, symbolize the dual nature of relationships—at once resilient and flexible, yet also fragile and easily disrupted. Inspired by an experience of perceiving her own reflection as if it were another person, Kang began examining questions of selfhood and identity. By using mirrors as both subject and pictorial surface, she visualizes the shifting boundary between the self and the other. The colorful blocks serve as metaphors for an identity constructed through accumulated aspirations and ambitions, prompting reflection on the gap between society's expectations and one's authentic self. Symbolic elements such as puddles, lakes, and grassy fields further expand her psychological landscapes, while vivid, high-saturation colors convey a sense of brightness tinged with solitude, creating a contemplative space for reflecting on life and human relationships.
Kim Jaehyun creates paintings inspired by nature and landscape, focusing on the impressions and emotional experiences evoked by the natural world. His major series—including Forest Impressions, Nature Impressions, and Acacia—reflect changing perspectives and distances in observing nature. The Acacia series, in particular, expands the viewer's sensory awareness through repetitive leaf patterns and layered imagery. Rather than relying on conventional perspective or traditional composition, Kim employs countless brushstrokes and accumulated layers of paint to evoke the temperature, fragrance, and movement of the breeze experienced in nature. Through this process, he reveals the emotional resonance and essential impressions that nature leaves behind. Alongside representational works, he also embraces abstraction to evoke sensations and memories that resist verbal expression, conveying the vitality of nature and its lingering emotional impact.
Jay Cho translates moments of emotion experienced while traveling through natural landscapes into oil paintings. Rather than faithfully depicting specific places, he captures the texture of the air, the atmosphere, and the subtle emotions he experienced within them. His work contemplates human existence through the contrast between the vastness of nature and the smallness of the individual, conveying both humility and liberation before the natural world. Through the slow, accumulative process unique to oil painting, he builds layers of color and brushwork that embody the passage of time and the lingering impressions of a landscape. In doing so, he expresses a beauty and emotional resonance that cannot be fully explained or defined, offering viewers a contemplative space in which to reconnect with their own memories and sensory experiences of nature.
